What a Summer!

We are on our final guests and I honestly can't tell you where the time goes!

In March we deep clean our gite ready for April and always say, 'I cant believe the season is starting' and its like we blink and we have come to the end.

We try to open April through to end of May, we then close for a month in June, this is purely selfish as we like to have some time to ourselves to enjoy our garden and pool before we open up for guest beginning in July! It means we also have a chance to have friends and family here to have some quality time.

July we hit the ground running and very rarely have even a day from start of July to mid September without a guest.

This year we have had such wonderful families stay!

Our returning guests, always a pleasure to see familiar faces again, the group of friends that come yearly to watch the moto world championships in St Jean D'angely all the way from Belgium, The Day family who have now become 'Framily' and they have been 10+ times so are the most frequent of all, the Taylor Family that came for the second time this year, The Stedman family that came for the third time this year and once again Fiona hand painted a beautiful water colour for us (you can see this on our socials).

New guests that came along, The Braithwaite family, The O'Hagan family and the Kirby family!!

The Kirby family are coming to visit us again next year, they were so keen they booked while they were here! We cant wait to welcome them back with Fred and Josie, along with the Day family again in May next year, the Atkinson family and hopefully many more!!

Honestly, we love our gite and all the families that pass through it, we currently have an adventurous family here and even though the weather has been a little poor the Jones Family have certainly been embracing it!

We want to say thank you, as always to anyone and everyone that helps to keep out dream alive by staying in our gite, it is always a pleasure and I say that with hand on heart.

Next year we will be going in to our 10th Season (9th year in France). Plenty has changed, from arriving in France with a 10 year old to now having an almost 19 year old that has just returned for her 2nd year at university. We said goodbye to our beautiful dog this year, a huge loss for us and quite frankly for Maison H, everybody loved her, she had a blast with all the guests for the 8 years we have been here and her ripe old age of 15 was a good age for our old girl.

We have said hello to Ginger the kitten, (Ginger Prince), who we found in a carpark in Saintes and he was approx 4 weeks old, he is now nearly 3kg and almost ready to come out and play with the big cats (we have 4 older cats, we aren't mad cat people I swear, we came with 3 and are suckers for a rescue, lol).
